Musical score from the lost Gremlins video game unearthed!

Hey folks, I have been waiting a long time to share this information with you all, and thank you for being so patient.

This is the first part of that awesome Gremlins news I told you would come before the end of the month regarding the unreleased Gremlins video game.

I have been in contact with a musician named Yan Volsy over the last few years and he was the composer and performer for the score that was to be used in the unreleased Gremlins video game.

The special surprise is he has given Gremlins Online permission to share his incredible work with the community! (The link is after the break)

Yan has done the music for various console and PC games over the years, including Jack The Ripper, Return to Mysterious Island, Cleopatra: A Queen’s Destiny, The Cameron Files: Secret at Loch Ness, Curse Of Atlantis, Frank Herbert’s Dune and many many more.

When I first spoke with him in 2007, I asked what happened to the game, and he said he was not sure himself. After he fulfilled his end of the contract and was paid for his work on the game, he really didn’t hear from Light & Shadow Productions anymore. Eventually he  and everyone else who had worked on the game realized that it wasn’t coming out and moved along with the other projects they had been working on through the years.

I asked if there is any other information at all he knew, but sadly there was nothing else he could offer us, since we know about as much, if not more than he does regarding the project.

However…

As I said, Yan has graciously agreed to let us hear a large portion of the work he did for the Gremlins PS2 game. He was not sure if the game was a multi platform title and only mentioned the PS2 specifically. So ladies, and gentlemen, here it is, over 20 minutes of the never before released Gremlins PS2 Game score!

Users: Just click the play button to hear the soundtrack. (This is a large file and may take a little while to stream, please be patient)

Webmasters: Please do not directly link to the streaming file, instead link to the post to avoid confusion, thank you very much.

This MP3 is not for distribution and all rights belong exclusively to Yan Volsy. Gremlins Online is posting this with explicit permission and claims no ownership over the music.

We also have some more exciting information coming soon regarding the lost video game, but that is a bit later down the line as I get details ironed out. Right now please enjoy this incredibly rare find courtesy of Yan Volsy.

(Feel free to check out his really neat website at http://www.yanvolsy.com)

Well, there you go loyal Gremlins fanatics! This score has been something I have been dying to share with you all for well over a year now, and am thrilled you can enjoy this really unique part of Yan’s work that gets us a bit closer to imagining how the Gremlins PS2 game would have turned out.

Till next time, keep them away from water, don’t get them wet, and no matter how much they cry, no matter how much they beg….never…never feed them after midnight.

and i bet the first level in stripe mode ( after the tutorial is the gremlins attacking the people and then showing stripe with this gun ( could be a SMg with watermelon seeds for bullets?) and the gizmo first level is when he is inside town hall and notices that a group of gremlins have came looking for him/ the mayor.

The intro to the game involves gizmo being informed by other mogwai that stripe has returned to kingston falls during a celebration, and I believe the tutorial was gizmo heading to the town hall.

Wow! it’s a great song, but it sounds like gizmo going evil at start, the stripe toturial level could be stripe having a dream in his cocoon. The next song could be a peicE of a ” don’t be found” part of a level. Hey! I know some people who made their own video game about critters, they are here as I type and we have decided,
” let’s try and make a level of the game! ( we won’t use any thing related to but we shall think of se stuff that could of been in the game)

I have no problem playing it via the link, the player seems to stream it fine. You may need to wait a little for it to load since it is a large track.
